Level III Technical Support Engineer (Ottawa, Canada)

MultiCorpora is a stable, profitable and expanding company with over 30% growth this past year. It is now adding a new position to its client support team: 3rd Level Technical Support and Troubleshooting.

We are looking for a 3rd Level Technical Support and Troubleshooting to join our team as a full-time employee.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of escalated cases that cannot be resolved within the prescribed response time
  • Troubleshoot and reproduce client issues via remote desktop connections, building internal testing environments
  • Document and escalate reproducible issues directly to products team.
  • Work closely with products team to validate fixes and workarounds in internal and client environments
  • Perform sophisticated system installations and configurations through remote desktop connections
  • Ensure timely resolution of escalated customer issues
 

Qualifications:

  • Computer Science Degree/Diploma or equivalent
  • In-depth Software Troubleshooting and Software Technical Support for proprietary client-server applications
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows XP, Vista, Server 2003 and Server 2008
  • Excellent knowledge of networking principles and the IP protocol.
  • Highly analytical and articulate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and French
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technology quickly
  • A proven team player with the ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional time management and ability to prioritize duties
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Any other related duties that may be assigned by management
 

Additional Assets:

  • Experience in Quality Assurance/Testing or software development 
  • Knowledge of MSSQL 2000/2005 databases 
  • Knowledge of Oracle 9i/10g databases
  • Ability to develop SQL scripts for Oracle or Microsoft SQL 
  • Knowledge of and ability to write VBA scripts for Microsoft Word or Excel
